Til Summer Comes Again | Yosemite National Park

Yosemite National Park, 2014

I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says “Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.
― Lewis Carroll, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass

I overheard a woman tell another today that spring is going to come in quick and furiously, with a sharp bang. I want nothing more than to hang tightly to her words and believe that steadfastly.

But then I look at the 7ft snow drift covering my tiger lilies and think that white stuff won’t be gone until June.

I can’t wait till the summer comes again.
