Summer Around The Gardens

my ever-so-favorite lavender

I spent the last week doing a little R&R with my parents who came to visit…did a little shopping, made some carrot cake muffins, played some competitively intense games of Rummy, and relaxed on my deck with snacks, drinks, bon fires, and the sounds of nature. And then I cried when they left to go home.

A lot of purples are in bloom at the same time in my garden, wish I could say I planned it that way, but just a happy accident.

Hungarian Blue Breadseed Poppy

Poppies seem to be the bane of my existence. Every year I try to grow them, unsuccessfully. This year I must of planted 600+ seeds. I had one whopping seedling germinate. One. But I loved every minute of it’s bloom.
