I have been trying to coordinate schedules between myself and a family who I’ve come to adore over the last year in order to sneak in a photo session with them. It finally happened last weekend and I had so much fun with them.
“Sister. She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities. She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway. She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark. She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink. Some days, she’s the reason you wish you were an only child.”
― Barbara Alpert
I first met them a year ago when Brittany was pregnant and her family threw her an epic bridal shower. Now her sweet baby girl is a year old and SO.DARN.ADORABLE. I can’t hardly believe it.
So we met up at Hiawatha Lake in the upper Onondaga Park region and enjoyed the break in the rain and the cooler weather as we created photographs for them before life puts distance between them on the US map with future moves and endeavors.
I adore the bond these three sisters have. They remind me of the bond between my own sisters. You can tell they are very close because they were able to laugh with each other, laugh at each other, make fun of each other, and encourage one another all the in the same hour and never stopped laughing and smiling the whole time. And I am sure as it is with my sisters, there are also times of tears, hurt feelings, and misunderstandings. But the thing about sisters and family is that no matter what, you are always family. Friends come and go. Family will always be. And when you have a close bond and relationship, it makes it all that much sweeter.
Brittany, Lindsey, & Taylor,
May you three stay forever close and bonded in your sisterhood. Don’t ever let distance or anything otherwise cause a drift. I am going to truly miss having the opportunity to photograph you guys in the future.
