Common Redpoll

Sometimes there is just simplicity in black and white.

These little tiny birds are an arctic finch, Common Redpoll, that make their way down here in the winter. They seem to really love the thistle seed and have been hanging around here all winter, which is a first for our property because they haven’t been here in years past. I must be doing something right ;o)

I can’t wait for the snow to melt and to be able to sit out on the deck and watch the birds again. Too bad that means my winter visitors will be returning to the tundra, I’ve grown quite fond of them 🙂
