Rest Is Not Idleness
“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.”
― John Lubbock
I’m in a ‘rest’ phase in life right now, especially as I near the end of the 2nd trimester with only 2 weeks or so left. And I use rest loosely when you live with a 1 year old. It’s good to have the reminder though that rest does not equal idleness or necrosis.
Also, I am reveling in the cool spring weather and dreading when the temps take a turn for the hot and humid. The gardens are almost set as far as I will get them before the hot weather takes over. I’ve been inundating Josh with To Do list projects in our home before the baby’s arrival. We (and I mean he) built some walls and installed french doors to make some of our space more usable for our purposes, painted our bedroom so I don’t have to live in a smurf blue cloud (who chooses that as a color?!), and some other odds and ends.
Back to baking breads and prepping a roast for tonight,
