Adam & Stephanie | Fall Engagement Session, North Country New York
“Journeys end in lovers meeting.” William Shakespeare
Despite being over 100 miles from each other, Adam and Stephanie were able to have their paths cross with the help of the internet.
Adam has worked at Cornell for the past 10 years as a web developer, while Stephanie was living and working in Rochester, where she is originally from. After a few wintry months of dating and traveling snow covered roads to see each other, they decided it was time for Stephanie to move to Ithaca.
They said they just knew from very early on that they would get married. When it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be.
I suggested a special spot for the engagement session. Perhaps a little selfish of me, but it’s a spot that I just love, where the waters sing, the light always enchants, and for a moment you feel far far away from the noisy world. I have always wanted to photograph a session here, but haven’t been able to convince anyone previously to make the drive. Couple that with our impending move, I wanted one last chance to bid adieu to place that I hold so dear.
Lucky for me, Stephanie and Adam were more than game, even when weather reports called for rain and snow. They emailed and said “Lets do it!”
I have the best clients in New York. I count myself a lucky woman to keep crossing paths with so many awesome people and being given the opportunity to tell their stories and freeze keystone moments in their life forever.
From here on out I switch gears to focusing on moving, growing a human, and perhaps sneaking in some moments for landscape and wildlife photography. But I know one thing for sure, I am already looking forward to their wedding next spring.
